The Nevis Air & Sea Ports Authority (NASPA) was established in March 1995 by “The Nevis Air and Sea Ports Authority Act 1995”. NASPA is charged with the responsibility of ownership and operation of the island’s designated Air and Sea Ports. Port operations began on 1st November 1997. The then Newcastle Airport was assimilated into the Authority on 1st March 1999. The airport was renamed on 19th September 2002 and is now the Vance W. Amory International Airport.
